If you haven't noticed I got hooked on Andrea Motis from Spain. She is just so fresh and sweat. By the way Joan Chamarro is actually the old guy who plays the Bass.

You can keep your J Lo and other talentless big assed screachers. Andrea Motis is so sweet and clean and I love her accent.

Joan Chamarro is a talent machine out of Spain. He bring in better singers than we have in America. My girl Andrea is singing backup. Joan has a stable full of angels.

RIP Kenny Rogers...

Dazed brought in an international clip or two, so I'll touch base with the Zimbabwean legend, Oliver Mtukudzi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqsA_v4Nu4U

Africa is calling... RIP my friend.

Tx, what did you think of Nina and Hollis Brown - she did a driving rendition of the Dylan song. This is the type of lyrics that made me a Dylan fan.

You can't talk Africa without Miriam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-YiAUi7alM

Dylan's version is much easier for me to comprehend, and it's less intense -- so much as being raw. Wow...

The South African selection is beautiful. Both South Africa and Zimbabwe are appreciated -- from Folk and Jazz perspectives. I tend to be more attune to Zimbabwe's Shona people. The way I understand it, my former folks were placed on a big old boat with open windows and vacationed from West Africa (~ Togo) to the U.S. We finally hauled our arses out to Texas and all worked out OK! I just had to mention that. Some family stayed in Virginia and North Carolina...

Then again, maybe I'm a Shona descendent from Zimbabwe whose folk' immigrated by their own free will to the U.S. in the 19th C. Maybe my lineage got mixed up!

:D

Tx, I liked the intensity of Nina, but I like intense songs, but then I turn around and play Andrea Motis because she sounds so sweet and innocent.
