What is socialism?

What is socialism?

Postby DDEATH » Sun Jan 14, 2018 11:34 am

Is it socialism when people unite as a village, county, state, or country, to pool their resources for the common good? In other words, is it socialism to form police departments, fire departments, armies, water departments, grocery stores, a postal service, garbage service, sewer lines, schools, etc., to provide MORE EFFICIENT use of resources? :?:

Is it socialism to pool resources to provide universal healthcare? :?:

What gives liberals the right to take my money to support their sick causes, which are only to insure a larger Democrat voter base. I don't just disagree with Democrats I despise what they are doing. Lottery immigration to guarantee we get the lowest class of immigrant - chained immigration to guarantee more slime can come in to vote Democrat. If they want this socialism then it is time to split the country in half, and let the sick liberals destroy themselves.

All things equal, Socialism might work in the general society... The problem comes with differing abilities, motivation, the act of responsibility, discipline and I guess other qualities. All people aren't equal.

For me, motivation was a big driver in life. Entitlements? Nope, nothing is given for free. You gotta be humble, drive on, and never envy anyone in a negative way. Geezer mentioned something about "children" being covered under their parents health insurance until age 26. I know times and conditions have changed, but I left home at age 17, and I grew from it (and real fast). I had no choice, and that was my mindset.

Piss on the rest.

DDeath, nobody is avoiding anything. You are trying to frame the question to fit your views. I don't want the government to run every aspect of my life. They can't do anything right and you want to give them more power. We cannot afford your world.

I did miss the direct question earlier. My eyes or brain (empty air mass) were missing.

The problem with socialized medicine is that free choice disappears, and healthcare becomes rationed through the government. The government may have the final decision as to whether I live or die. Why should this be if I have the financial means to care for myself with professional medical intervention? Standing in the queue for a medical procedure becomes problematic under government controls.

Police, fire, military and utility services might be quasi-socialistic with the issues of common good you mentioned. However, not everyone is required to participate in these services, and revenues are provided through appropriated means (taxes), and other means through usage (user fees).

The ObamaCare Program was a lie from the beginning, and funding has become impossible, and services are on the decline. That's the way I see it...

Then again, Obama could set a good example by pooling his wealth and retiring to a country like Haiti or Zimbabwe to lift them (and others) from their shit-hole status. Liberals need to set the example by giving completely of themselves for the betterment of society.

Just piss on'em...

Tex, what about Medicare? Almost all seniors LOVE their Medicare!

We all pay for health insurance and what do they do? They get your money, my money and everybody's money; take their BILLIONS of profits out, and then pay the healthcare providers. Do we really need them?

I believe we can study every universal healthcare plan out there, and come up with something better for the USA!

i think we'll eventually figure out that it's the only REASONABLE alternative, and make the leap!

Thanks DD....you just proved my point about ALL govt "systems"....For every dollar "spent on any govt program" ...
we actually get maybe 25% of actual "service"...the rest is wasted in all the bureaucratic BS.
(The democratic philosophy....take it all and then refund what WE feel like you should have)
NOW...THAT is socialism. ;)

I know there is waste in government........ that doesn't mean we should throw the baby out with the bathwater!

Do we really need health insurance companies?

Do you like socialism for our :?: armed forces, state militias, postal systems, fire fighters, etc?

Geez, where did the 25% come from?
The SAME place your 95% number that you use for "scientists" believing in GLOBAL WARMING....I pulled it out of my s...hole   (but I will admit it) ;)

Most, on your "socialism" list are "necessary evils", govt funded healthcare is not one of those....too big a chance
for fraud and waste, and concentration of power.
