Here is Bruce Channel with Hey Baby. I seem to remember this song being a hit twice.

What a movie. Listen here around time marker 19-20 -- the old guy mentions born and bread in Alpine (Texas): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5XE389BX9o

Alpine is my family home.

I'm Mad as hell from Network - I wish to hell America would wake up and grab these Socialists/Communists by the hair and rip them out of the government. Take these prissy Politically Correct People and punch them in the mouth. These people are the ones we could not stand while we were growing up, and now they are trying to destroy the country. No more Mr. Nice Guy starting beating the shit out of these slime. Rip the Communist professors out of the classrooms, humiliate them out in the open.

DDeath,

You old dawg you, cuz that first clip with the New Seekers is horrible. I hated the song then, and it damn near makes me puke now!

The Seekers, second to none, were Judith Durham, Athol Guy, Keith Potger and Bruce Woodley. Judith Durham is one of my top female vocals. Listen to this clip from ~ 1965:

Lionel Richie? Was he the one who had the hit around 1980 -- singing about dancing on the ceiling? Flush it!

Gotdamit!

Dazed,

Your Vietnam jungle clip reminded me of the Bird... a few years earlier before I arrived there. Nonetheless, the song bored its way into my head when I was there.

Remember? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSTpFjEhwBU

... and another http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CHiUN8XTWs

Both clips were ~ 1963.

Let me go back to a beautiful voice from a beautiful lady: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqQzRDqTS7Y

Basic training Fort Knox, Aug-Sep, 1964. Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic school, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., Oct - mid Dec. Most of us were worried about getting sent to Vietnam. One guy somehow managed to bring his guitar to the barracks and he often sang these two songs. I didn't know until much later that they were big Beatles' hits!
