I got bored with Motown, just like most of the other music from the 60s. I gave you the perfect example of what I like in a female singer with Timi Yuro
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0x8HaXDt7eU TIMI's voice is better than anything that ever came out of Motown. Again I present the isolation of Grace Slick's voice on White Rabbit, and great as the music is in this song it take a distant 2nd to Grace Slick's vocal.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyMtIwobqbI There is a real reason they have decided to isolate her vocals. Timi and Grace are very unique vocals that transcend almost all other vocals. I like a big voice like Jackie Wilson, Grace Slick or Tom Jones. Brenda Lee does a pretty fair version of Hurt, but does not match Timi, and that says a lot because I consider Brenda Lee to be great. Most singers only have what I would call an average voice. Certain singers such as Ray Charles can never be replaced - no singer on earth can do Born to Lose like Ray, because he had more pain and soul in his voice than anyone I have ever heard.
