Many artists did this song so well, and this lady is a beauty: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtSZhPSTzoE

DDeath: Maybe you'll add Dana to your list of female favorites.

BLUE - Leanne has never even come close to matching the song that made her famous.

I hear a young, Patsy Cline.

... and DDeath like female vocals, so let's go back to 1964: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KhbM2mqhCQ

I got bored with Motown, just like most of the other music from the 60s. I gave you the perfect example of what I like in a female singer with Timi Yuro https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0x8HaXDt7eU TIMI's voice is better than anything that ever came out of Motown. Again I present the isolation of Grace Slick's voice on White Rabbit, and great as the music is in this song it take a distant 2nd to Grace Slick's vocal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyMtIwobqbI There is a real reason they have decided to isolate her vocals. Timi and Grace are very unique vocals that transcend almost all other vocals. I like a big voice like Jackie Wilson, Grace Slick or Tom Jones. Brenda Lee does a pretty fair version of Hurt, but does not match Timi, and that says a lot because I consider Brenda Lee to be great. Most singers only have what I would call an average voice. Certain singers such as Ray Charles can never be replaced - no singer on earth can do Born to Lose like Ray, because he had more pain and soul in his voice than anyone I have ever heard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsOmizjm0Xw

Dazed, learned this in my thirties, "Hate is the most wasted emotion". (ANON)

Not sure how any music lover of our age can hate this:

DDeath, God will get you for that. Hate is a pretty strong word so I will say I dislike him intensely. You and Tex have similar tastes, and I travel a different path. I dislike Bubblegum and the Beatles, I have also lost my taste for Motown, although I do like doowop, and while I go back to the 40s I am mostly based in the 70s. Here is the best slow song ever.
