Well I'll be go(t)damn! There's VetClerk -- like he's been lurk'en in here all the time! I'm glad you dropped in, cuz I thought that <very old> codger, DDeath, was gonna shut the forum down!

Percy Faith, a second-class American (Canadian), was the best with his theme song from A Summer Place in 1960. The French horn section beginning at 1:31 is fabulous. That could be me on one of the front row playing the silver flute, but that's not the case here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFi_CKNJjwE

Hats off to Henri Mancini, another great... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRu4aLAG2AI

Don't forget the great Burt Kaempfert. I guess this was a tribute to the South Africans (Dutch/German decent) in years past: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGmR2dJSDvo

What a show...

I saw that movie awhile back, and Denzel Washington is a forceful actor. The music gives me a funny feeling.

DDeath: Me and the Mule are going on a short trek around the Texas neighborhood, then I'm headed out next week to Philadelphia for an ANA convention. I'll pick-up a shiny coin for you from times past.

Please keep this forum active until I return. I'll be out next Wednesday - Saturday. See if you can find Dazed and Geezer. I'm a lil' worried about them two.

Tex, have a good trip and thx for that Floyd Cramer, which was a favorite of mine.

I'll try to keep it going with more from the 60s! :D

I know you will... Don't forget the 50s, and even in special cases the 70s!

Speaking of the 60s, Judith Durham for me is the purest and finest female vocal. Petula Clark and Barbara(s) Mason and Lewis, and Patsy Cline are up there for me too.

I've played it here before, but Durham's ~ '65 top vocal hits me unlike any other single. Maybe not the lyrics per se, but the voice is... : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmactMIhrRM

I'll be back later this month.

Wait... Now I know the song you're referring to (translated): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPDF2ORPOFQ

Long days past for sure. I credit Percy Faith for not giving us rap-crap, and grabbing his crotch.
